As Lead User Researcher at Playtomic, you'll be a game-changer in revolutionizing the racket sports experience. Your mission is to participate in shaping powerful product strategies by uncovering and delivering key insights from users and the sports industry stakeholders. You'll lead and nurture our research practice, driving innovation in methodologies while mentoring talented researchers.
Working at the intersection of sports and technology, you'll build and optimize our research operations, while championing user-centered design principles to ensure player and club needs remain at the heart of every strategic decision. Together, we'll transform how millions of players connect, play, and grow in the world of racket sports.
👩🏽💻 What you’ll be doing
- Contribute to the definition of research strategies, closely with product leadership.
- Lead cross-functional research projects together with different roles to inform strategy and solutions.
- Contribute to shaping initiatives that move forward the UX team and its impact.
- Establish and standardize research processes and methodologies
- Build, maintain, and evolve company-wide user knowledge artifacts such as repositories, journeys, user personas, and opportunity maps.
- Lead and mentor other researchers and teams doing research independently (People who do research).
- Rise the quality of the UX Chapter by participating in recruiting processes for new UX team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Champion user-centered design culture in the company.
👥 Who you’ll be playing with
- You will report directly to our UX Director and directly collaborate with tribe leadership to help squads shape better plans.
- You will work with the product squads, with Product Managers, Product Designers, Product Analysts, and Engineers.
- You will collaborate with other members who contribute to shaping insights, such as Product Analysts, customer care, marketing, etc.
🦄 Our Ideal "Player"
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology or equivalent experience with a user-centered design approach.
- 6+ years of experience in user research working with software product teams, working on web and mobile platforms
- Proficiency in a range of research tools and methodologies.
- Leadership and project management skills.
- Strong ability to translate complex business needs into research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels and drive research initiatives across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor and develop team members.
- Proven track record of leading high-impact research projects.
- Experience working in fast-paced tech environments, startups, or product-driven companies.
- Exceptional communication, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for human-centered design and user advocacy.
🤓 Extra points
- Experience conducting research in international markets and diverse cultural contexts.
- Background in psychology, anthropology, or cognitive science.
- Knowledge of other languages.
- Open to research travel for short periods
- Previous experience with sports apps, online marketplaces or SaaS
- Loves sports, especially Padel
- Proficiency with Figma
